Job Summary
Mission Road Ministries is seeking a results-driven Vice President of Development & Communications to lead all fundraising and revenue-generating efforts. As a senior leader, this role is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that drives sustainable growth through major gifts, grants, annual giving, planned giving, sponsorships, and special events—while strengthening donor relationships and advancing the mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all revenue-generating functions, including major gifts, grants (foundation, corporate, and government), annual giving, planned giving, sponsorships, and special events
- Develop and execute short- and long-term fundraising and communications strategies
- Manage and mentor the Development and Communications teams, fostering a strong culture of philanthropy
- Oversee donor cultivation, stewardship, and major gift portfolios
- Ensure accurate revenue forecasting, reporting, compliance, and ethical fundraising practices
- Direct internal and external communications, brand management, and storytelling efforts
- Serve as staff liaison to Board fundraising and marketing committees and support Board engagement in development activities
- Build strong relationships with donors, community partners, and stakeholders
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including major gifts
- Proven success in managing comprehensive development programs and revenue growth
- Experience leading teams and working with senior leadership and Boards
- Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills
- Proficiency with development databases, reporting tools, and standard productivity software
